Hello i have a 03 350Z, and today i went to start it, and it started for about a second, and then died. Its never done this before... its has about 80k on it, but all maintenance has been kept up with the car. I really dont know what the problem is. Like i said it starts up fine, but then seems to die within 2 seconds.

Hey, the engine does not choke and die what so ever, right? It just dies exactly like it would if you turned the key off?

Hey, can you make a video of what your car sounds like and put it on here? If you don't know how to do that, just call me.. but it would help a lot to hear exactly what it sounds like. Ok, here's a small troubleshooting guide...

1. Put key in ignition, turn 2 clicks and listen for the fuel pump to prime... it should sound like a little whine or a small motor turning. If you cant hear it.. get someone to turn the key while you listen right near where the spare tire is in the trunk.

I was just thinking your fuel pump could be running out.

What happens if you try to start it again? Does it do the same thing?

yay, you're welcome... well.. I was going to tell you next to reset the ecu but it's always easier to start with fuel,spark... like checking ABC's on an unresponsive person (Check for airway obstructions, check for breathing, check for circulation.. ) haha.. anyway.. glad you have it running again!

i had the same problem before i turned in my '03 with 80k but i also had a injen cold air intake on it. this year when i brought it out it keep stalling but i ran it hard a couple days then it was fine. you also might want to check the air box i also had an issue with leaves the years before the i put the cold air on it. 03 was the first batch of Z's so i found it to be a little tempermental when it sat form two months.
