I just finally replaced my drivers' side seat frame (adjuster assembly) after two failed welding attempts. I'm happy to report the ill-conceived left-rear bracket has finally been redesigned to (hopefully) eliminate this problem. I purchased my replacement unit from Courtesy Nissan online, and had it shipped to my house for a total cost of $650 (my local dealer quoted $950!!). Installation takes time and patience, and a GOOD clutter-free work area with something tall enough to rest the seat onto upside-down. No special tools are needed, just a 14mm and a 12mm socket, a philips-head screwdriver, a 10mm crescent wrench (for the battery disconnection) and a small flat-blade to assist in releasing some clips. I've documented the entire procedure in a YouTube video here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViOSqIrrLRY
Purchasing this part from and paying for dealer installation is ridiculously expensive (around $1200 or more), and it seems the redesign isn't publicized, as the parts counters had no idea. Again, the replacement part WILL NOT fail like the original one (we hope).
Hope this helps someone!
