Turn the key and I get a click. Keep trying it and it will eventually fire right up. Some times it takes a couple of trys and other times it may take 10-15 times. It used to happen maybe one out of 50 times I started the car. Now it occurs almost every time. Changed the starter relay already so I guess it is the starter. The FSM makes it look so simple. Just remove a couple of bolts. Is it really that simple? Nothing else I have attempted on this car has been. You think it could be something else besides the starter?

Not to state the obvious, but every time I've had that problem, it's been the battery. Other possibilities are corroded battery cables, a bad regulator, or weak alternators.

A trip to the Auto parts store to test the battery under load is the next logical step.

oh yeah,,,,it's that simple.......

sorry, I was thinking how I had the same initial reaction 3 yrs ago.

Not only next to impossible, I paid the mechanic extra because it took him much longer than he had quoted.

Vehicle is trying to tell you that it is time to sell and save money for retirement. Use public transportation from now on.

Hey buddy, I don't usually get my feathers in a ruffle on this board, but maybe you ought to knock it off with all the "get rid of it" BS. If you don't like the Q45, stay off the board. You don't see us on the G35 board telling people to sell their pretentious piles of sh*t. If you have nothing useful to add, DON'T ADD. :nono:

I would definitely agree. Get the battery tested, and if it is OK, the starter is your culprit. I found that if you unbolt the motor mount and jack the motor up a couple inches, along with adding lots of profanity ( ), it allows easier access, but that's on a 94. If I had it to do over again, I'd pay someone else.
