Owned this X for year or so n am happy with performance but had to break down n put a new clutch in it. Day two and SES light came on (first light ever!), PO335 I think, points to CPS in transmission bell housing. No change in engine power, idle, runs GREAT! Cleared code but came back n turned on SES light. Non SC FYI. I think the mech who did clutch job might have damaged the sensor when putting the transmission back in.....what do u guys think? He has agreed to replace it to cost of the part.

That's a good bet. It's really easy to mash it between the bell housing and block when mating the two up if he didn't pull it out of the way.

Take him up on the replacement offer.

This might be the last post re this problem.......my mech can't get to my X for a week or so. As this is my primary vehicle, could BAD things happen if I drive it in its present condition?

No. You're just going to have an annoying light.
