Hey all,
There has been a lot of discussion on the g35/z forums about finding a way around the full plastic valve cover replacement when spark plug seals go bad. My question is a little easier, I'm wondering if the 2001 Aluminum valve covers will fit no problem on the 2002, my question arises based on the coil pack designs from 01-02. The 2001 has a different coil pack on one cylinder, where as the 2002-2004 use the same pack on all six.
If I swap to 2001 aluminum covers, will I have an issue with the 2002 coil pack not fitting properly where the 2001 has the funky coil pack?
If anyone doesn't know, the 2002-2004 with plastic valve covers do not have replaceable spark plug tube seals (to my knowledge) and therefore to fix a leaking tube seal the entire valve cover needs to be replaced (aprox $500 for the pair) the 2001 vq35de in the r50 has everything replaceable on aluminum valve covers.
Thanks guys!!
