2002 Spec-V, Location of ECU, starting problems

I need to find the location of my engine control unit (ECU) for my 2002 Nissan Sentra Spec-V. I think it may have gone bad. Any comments?

The car currently will not start. I bought the car with a blown head gasket. Fixed that, then drove it to work for 4 days. On the 4th night, the check engine light came on, the engine stalled, and has not been able to start since.

Symptoms:all interior lighting, exterior lighting, power windows, locks, and radio worksstarter cranks fine

The spark plugs do not spark while cranking!Any suggestions on what and how to test and diagnose the problem?

The ECU is located under the hood by the firewall on the passenger side.

Sounds like the ecu to me as well. They aren't cheap to replace either.

Yeah as Mike said the ECu is on the firewall on the left side when looking in the engine bay. It is a PITA to get out as well. Hope you get it taken care of easily.

The ECU is actually in a box in the firewall. It's a PITA to get out the first few times, make sure you have some ratchet extensions handy, they make it a lot easier.
