2002 Ser Spec V really as Awful as people say?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I found a 2002 spec v with 80k, its black for $3500. I was ready to jump on this car, but then did an internet search. And holy F, the webz make this car out to be the worst car ever produced. Is it really as awful as they say? I just need something to leave stock as a daily, as I have my s13 for the business.

Thanks

If you are thinking twice about getting a 2002 Spec V then why not get a B-13 or a B-14. :thewave:

I don't want a b13 or b14 because I am not specifically after a sentra. I am just looking for a daily, and that 02 popped up. It does have an aftermarket header on it, which I read is good.

If it has an aftermarket header on it, that is good. It should also have the butterfly screws locktited. once that its done it is a solid vehicle. Its just that engine has burned a lot of people. I owned one for 5 years and didnt have any problems.

As VM said, these cars can bite you in the a$$, especially if not properly maintained. As with any first year car, you will have the most problems.

Not as bad of a car as it has a reputation for. As long as it is well maintained, it is a solid car in all aspects and you cannot find one that is more fun for the money. Just make sure the previous owner was not a tard.

I have 185K on my 02 Spec-V and it's pretty good to me. Nissan replaced 1 engine because the factory exhaust manifold caused the head gasket to blow or a butterfly screw from the intake manifold fell into the engine and as soon as I got the car back I replaced the manifold for a header. That was in 05 and I haven't had a issue with the engine since. Locktite the butterfly screws too. Other than that it's a great car that serves as my DD and my autoxing toy.
