Im looking to buy headers for my 2002 SE-R and i almost bought Stillen Headers and race pipe to go along with my stillen cat-back but i read on a forum that with the headers it makes a crappy sound like there are bees in the pipes i was wondering if anyone else was ahving this problem or if it was a one time deal id really like to hear from someone with a stillen stillen combo i want it to sound nice not like a civic. thank you very much

Welcome to Nico!

I'm not sure what he means by that, but my headers make a loud, high pitched hollow scream-thing and it sounds great honestly. Most of it will be heard in the car, not so much outside. But, again, not sure if that's what you mean by "bees in the pipes."

It should be fine. I think the reason I've got so much sound on mine now is because I'm running without a cat. But overall, your stillen headers+catback should sound great!

My HotShot knockoff header sounded deep and growly with a Greddy Evo 2 catback. so it did not sound like a beehive Honda.

So i think this is what i am going to do. Im going to get headers and a high flow cat but my question is where do i weld in the high flow cat right after the headers or do i replace the mid cat with the high flow?

The high flow cat is a replacement for the cat in the middle of the system. Make sure to move your 2nd O2 sensor behind the high-flow or one of the other tricks to make sure you don't throw a code (the full list is in the Common Fixes thread in the Table of Contents).

Sound won't be an issue as long as you have a proper catback exhaust. Even the stock one is better (sound-wise, though flow is an issue) than a cheap muffler. Make sure you have a resonator as well (again, stock has one, but the stock piping is smaller than your header's midpipe, so it's recommended that you get an aftermarket catback to go with the header).
