Hi all!
This forum has already provided me a wealth of information which I used to buy my last 99, and now this 2002 QX4. Thank you all!
Mechanically this car is solid and has 140k miles, no leaks or weird noises. I'm having some issues with the transmission though. In any gear other than drive (P-R-N-2-1), I can push the O/D off button and the light turns on in the dash and the car kicks down. When the car is in drive, I can push the button and nothing happens. When on the highway about 70MPH I can feel the car locking and un locking the torque converter (I think that's what is it.) and I can see the RPM fluctuate about 100-200rpm. You can feel the RPM and gear(?) change while you drive. I've used the procedure in AT-47 and with my limited tooling and knowledge the manual points to the throttle position sensor. Does this make any sense? I can't easily get a new TPS for the moment, but I pulled two from the JY. Is it just a swap over, or more in depth. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you & Cheers!
