2002 QX4 Timing Belt or Chain

Does the 2002 QX4 have a timing chain or timing belt? Is it required to change either?

The VQ35 in the 2001.5+ Qby4 has a chain and should never require replacement.

However they need regular oil changes, moreso that other cars.

I think he means engine oil changes. Not something you want to skimp on.

I change my oil every 3 months but i don't reach 5000km in that time, is that a good interval or should i do them sooner?

Switch to Amsoil and change it once a year or every 25,000km. Conventional oil in my opinion is horrible on your engine in the long run.

changing your oil once a year is retarded, no matter how expensive the oil is that you're using.

every 3 months or every 5000 km is a good interval.

I change my oil every 6,000 Km., which is usually every 3-4 months.
I've been using Mobil1 synthetic since the day I got it, and have to say I would never go back to dinosaur oil, especially here in Canada.
I think it's worth the extra money. Still runs like new, with 220,000 Kms on it.
I definitely don't recommend this once a year or 25,000 Km. interval that was suggested. That's asking for trouble.
