The sun roof on my QX4 opens 2" at a time instead of automatically. It has two buttons on the front of the ceiling console; the left is for automatic open/close (slides back and forth) and the right is to open it from the rear (up/down). When I press the automatic button it does not open all the way (I have to hit the button and it moves 2" at a time). Is there something wrong with the motor? A sensor? Or a fuse? Any ideas/suggestions on how to fix. Thanks.

Thanks Towncivilian. Although the process did not work exactly (I have a QX4 and the process was for a Pathfinder) it did help. This is what I did for my QX4: 1) Turn on vehicle; 2) Record radio settings; 3) Open sunroof until it tilts open from rear; 4) Turn off vehicle and disconnect battery for a few minutes; and 5) Connect battery, turn on vehicle and BAM! the sunroof works like a charm. Again, THANKS!

Great, you're welcome! I don't think anybody else has reported success with that method so I'm glad it works. Thanks for your method too.

Use the toggle button the flips the sunroof open. Keep pressing it until it opens all the way, then press is again until it closes all the way. They press it again until it flips open, once more to close it. Then use the other switch and boom, back to normal. happened about 10 times to my roof. Usually when I disconnect the battery

That 2" at a time thing happened to me maybe 2 - 3 times over 10 years. I don't remember the exact steps I did, but I didn't disconnect the battery. It was like inserting and removing ignition key a couple of times or so. After I did that, I know 2" thing is not a big issue.
