2002 QX4 Starting Issue

Hey All,

I did some searching and didn't find an answer to my dilema.

Ever since i bought my 02 I have had a starting issue. I can't just turn the key and start up and go. I have always needed to advance the key to the first position ( wait for the hum of the fuel pump to kick ) and then start. If I just crank the key first off, it acts like its dead.

Well today I did as I always do, just advance the key. I heard a hum, but once turning the key it acted like there was no fuel. It took about 6 tries for it to finally start. Now I know its finally cold, so that could have an affect.

But is my fuel pump going out?Is this something everyone experiences?Is there a relay that possibly is out and causing this lag?
