2002 QX4 Shocks and Struts

Hopfully someone can advise me best on this: 2002 QX4 105,000 Miles

How long do stock shocks and struts last under normal driving conditions? My steering wheel shakes at 65 + MPH and braking from high speeds. I had the wheels balanced and was advised all four shocks and tires need to be replaced. It still rides smooth at lower speeds and I only have very minor shaking when braking. I don't hear it bottoming out or anything close. I push the front and back down to see if the shock catch and they seem to do. Any suggestions?

I'm also looking to go to 20" wheels, if I have to replace the shocks should I go with something more compatiable for the 20"? I hear KYB are good.

Yeah, you probably need new struts and shocks. My wheel was doing that was well, I knew it was the front struts since on smooth roads at high speed it was fine, but when I hit the rougher stuff is was all over the place. They appear to be fine, but you're being decieved.

I just put the KYB GR2's on mine this weekend. Look for my write up in a couple of days with pictures. They are awesome and the feel is sooooo different now.

But I do recommend paying someone else to put them in if you can get a really good quote on the labor. I wished I'd had the money to just say F it and let someone else do it. But I did get some great experience!

Thanks, I have a quote for $200.00 to do all four. Any suggestions about the rims? Will the shocks be good for the 20"s I'm going to put on? Also, how long am I looking at before having to change the shocks again?

$200 must be just labor Post up the total price they quoted and lets see how much they are making on parts

The front struts alone should be like $80 each, the rear shocks like $50 each

I have a shop where I bring them the parts, they will take care of the install and warranty the work. Anyone know of a place with the best price on the parts?

I got my fronts for $180 delivered from sparkplugs.com. I think you can get it slightly cheaper from 4x4parts.com if you have the time to wait. But that was the best price I found online and I did a lot of searching.
