How difficult is it to replace the passenger side resonator on my 2002 QX4? Should I take it take it to a shop or should I order it and replace it myself? Thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the stock exhaust system only have one resonator, aft of the rear axle?

See FE-9. There is a main muffler and post muffler (at least that's what Nissan calls them). I think the "main muffler" is what we'd call a resonator, correct? Or maybe the OP is referring to either of the "front tubes" which is what is what RockAuto pictures under "Resonator"?

Yes, if you look at FE-9, the post muffler (#10) is the resonator. There is also only one main muffler, with two inlets, one outlet.
Maybe Israelpr is referring to the two catalytic converters????

The cats should have heat shields, right? I've read of rusted heat shields causing rattling. If that's the case, just rip them off - no need to replace them as far as I know.

Ya, there are heat shields all around the exhaust system. Most of mine are gone lol.
They rusted loose and rattled, and then fell off. I've never replaced them. No harm done.
