Hey I'm new to the forum and needed some advice. I am getting high pitch whinning sound from my belts or pullys. Starts up when I first start the truck and then comes and goes as I drive. I replaced the belts and it's still there. I notice that when the steering wheel is turned all the way in one direction or another the power steering pully stops and the belts drag across it. Sounds like the bearings in the pully are going out. How hard is it to replace the pump. Any place I can get directions to do it. Thanks!!

check the tension first, that belt might be too tight. and you might be able to find just the pulley somewhere to save you from changing the whole pump, if it is bad.

Thanks for the response back! I finally gave in a let the dealer look at it. They said all the pullys were ok. They said it was aftermarket belts on it, stating the grooves might be a little different then OEM. Don't know how true this was but they charged me $170 bucks to replace the belts. Yea, bunch of BS! But I guess it worked no more squeeling. Thanks again.
