Hey what ups guys? Really need some help with this issue. My 02 Qx4 started up fine this morning, for the past few days I've been having trouble with my battery. After I fueled up I had the car off with the lights on. When I went to start the vehicle it didn't want to start. Usually starts after a few cranks but not this time. Got a boost turned on for about 5 seconds then turned off. Tried starting it again and it just cranks, with no start.
Took it to my local mechanic ran some test and came up with a "code of P1610, when this code appears ECM detects failure in security system. Most common problem with system is when a uncoded ignition key is used." My mechanic was using Mitchell Repair information and the diagnosis workflow chart suggest that all ignition keys be brought to the dealer so that they can be reprogrammed. All fuses were checked and were good. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also can I take the keys to a Nissan dealer? Or do I just have to take it to an Infiniti dealer?
