Hey all, anyone know where I can find the executive order number that is supposed to be visible on my truck? I have failed emissions and need to replace cats with EPA registered replacements specific to vehicle. Truck under hood says it conforms to nlev and lev regulations for California. Looked all inside engine compartment...can't seem to find this magic number. Anyone know where to find or just know the EO number or know what cats (affordable. :-/ ) I can replace them with? Thanks and cheers!

Why are we still doing Emission testing? I have always heard California has the strictest in the Nation, I suppose the States just can't give up that revenue.

Anyways, I would think any Catalytic Converter sold at the big auto parts store would suffice. Just don't weld it on and after emissions you can remove it if you want. As far as the number goes, I lived in Oregon and we just drove to the DEQ, gave them the registration, they plugged in their code reader and put the sniffer up the tail pipe. Did their mirror around the car to check for CConverter. Never asked for any number, so it must be Cali specific. Maybe some number on your registration card or VIN plate.

California does do a visual, and there have been folks over on CorvetteForum.com that have failed because the new cat
wasn't CARB-approved.
