First post for me, but I've been lurking around these forums- Thanks to all contributors!

Last year I was given a White & Gold QX4 for work fresh out of college.

I've recently purchased 4 new BFG Rugged Terrains, replaced the Charcoal Canister and another fuel line valve as well as an O2 sensor in order to pass emissions here in Illinois.

It's strange how putting hard earned money into your vehicle slowly makes you love it more...

To the point--> I absolutely HATE the white/gold combination and thought that painting the gold fender flares/exterior body trim and bumpers would make the car look much better.

Wasting time I stumbled upon this: http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/ptd/4035493711.html which would probably supply everything I needed in order to swap them out with the original ones.

Any thoughts, ideas, concerns, experience with the project? Fair price on those pieces, I think each part is around $200 new..

The fender flares have spongy looking adhesive "gaskets" on the outside edges of them which help secure them to the vehicle body (look closely at yours and you'll see what I mean), which are also painted with the vehicle's trim color. Otherwise, I believe they bolt in (?). Bumpers are a little more annoying to replace with all the trim clips and bolts and screws everywhere, but it's doable.

Welcome to NICO!

Assuming those are adhesive, I would need to order new ones instead of taking them off the donor?

Mine are original and show every day of age, they are bubbling and crusty.

-Thanks!
