2002 Qx4 w/154K miles a/c was working perfect and suddenly there was a slight change in temp (it got warmer). Had to set temp at 68 and fan speed to number to get it comfortable. The following day it was back to normal. The a/c has never been touched and freon never needed. What could the problem be? Should I be worried? Thanks/

I wouldn't be worried. Depending on how hot it is, my A/C doesn't work excellently either, even with circulation on, temperature at maximum cold, and at fan speed 4 (manual dial controls here). Basically if it's 90F degrees or higher and I'm idling, the air is cool but not super cold. Moving helps since there is more air flow through the A/C condenser.

The only things you can do is to clean the A/C condenser of any bugs or dirt buildup, and change the cabin air filters if they are more than two years old.

does yours have tint?
I know it has nothing to do with it from the first few minutes...as when you get in it usually is hot from the gitgo (90-100 temp)
but it gets cold quicker when you do have tint...since it doesnt have to fight much absorbed heat from the interior material
When I got the pathy it already had this super dark tint...
