2002 Quest won't shift out of park

Please help. I have the dreaded stuck shift lock. Brake lights work, all fuses are good. This van has the shift bar on steering column, but all the fixes I've found is for the ones between the seats. How do I bypass? If I can't bypass, how do I fix this?

Do you hear a distinct click near the shifter when you step on the brake pedal?
