Hi all, I need a little help in finding out what's wrong with my AC. It's making a loud whining noise when the AC is on. Its not the belt, it seems like its coming from the compressor. I just recently changed all belts. there's no noise when the car is on and AC is off. It's loudest when I first start the car in the morning. I've read a couple of other posts but none are of the 02+ q45s. I read it may be a failed fan clutch. Could this be my issue? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

could be compressor going bad or idler pully bearings- must isolate source of noise to pinpoint problem

Many early Q owners don't realize that the primary cooling fan is driven by hydraulic pump fluid on 2002 and later.

The more serious question is were did the fluid go and what are you doing about the leak?

it was a big relief that it wasn't anything major, I was gettin ready to take out a line of credit to get it fixed LOL. I don't see any leaks around the pulley. Now that I know there's a fluid for the pulley, I can keep track of how much its draining.
