2002 Q45 vibration and noise from engine compartment

Hi,

I noticed the following two things on the 2002 Q45 that I bought recently.

1. Steering vibrates at 65 plus miles. It also vibrates when you brake at high speeds. From reading the prior topics it looks like a balancing issue.

2. Today I noticed a noise from engine compartment. It sounded like the fan is spinning at really high speed. The growl increases if you push the pedal. Can it be the idler pully problem.

You need your rotors turned, but I don't recommend that. you need to replace with new oem ones and new pads.

try to check your tourqe on lug nuts. i had it over torqued and had vibration.

your tires could be out of round and or a flat spot from sitting for a long time.

fan clutch needs replacement to cure screaming roaring fan before it grenades into hood!

Hi,

The dealer from which I bought the car is saying that its a dual mode fan and runs on high speed when engine is hot and this explains the sound.

Should I buy it?

are you talking about the electric fan,or the belt driven fan causing the noise?- electric fans are multispeed,belt driven one controlled my fan clutch

The Fan is controlled by a separate hydraulic pump. There is no clutch, and no electric fan.

Hi,

I took the car to Infiniti to check the air bag warning sign. They said it was due to seat belt and they'll replace the seat belt.
