2002 Q45 Trunk Latching

Some months back I locked my keys in the trunk of my Q45. I had to remove my back seat and use a hook to release the trunk by way of the emergency pull.
Ever since then my trunk lid will not latch itself. I can manually trip the mechanism but when I close the trunk it will not latch closed.
Any one have any ideas?

It sounds like the emergency pull is stuck in the "pulled" position.

Have you tried yanking it a few times to see if you can get it unfrozen?

I have a 2002 with the same issue. I loosened the trunk lid liner to replace the 2 licence plate lightbulbs, buttoned it back up and now the trunk wont latch! Did you find a solution to your problem?
