2002 Q45 Transmission Fluid change

Hi - Could someone tell me when changing the transmission fluid how many quarts do i need to use to re-fill.

Check the FSM for the exact amount for your vehicle:

Most Nissans use between 12-14 quarts, but you'll have to double check in the FSM.

Are you doing a simple drain and fill using the drain plug on bottom of transmission? If so you will only get about 3-5 quarts of ATF drain out- measure amount drained in a graduated jug {old gallon size milk/water jugs that you have marked in 1 quart lines} and refill with same amount of new ATF. If this procedure has never been done before, or it was a long time ago, never hurts to drain/refill and drive 5 miles to mix new atf with old and then repeat with a 2nd drain/fill, possibly even a third/forth drain/fill if the drained atf does not look like new.

it was a simple drain then fill....i ended of up adding 4 quarts....thks for the help!!!
