Ladies & gents,

I have a 2002 Q45 Sport and just recently my rear side area (tire?) sounds like a tractor wheel.
It actually sounds like I'm riding on 4x4 wheels...it's the strangest thing.
My guess is either a cupped tire or a bad wheel bearing hub? I will not have a chance to have it checked out until the weekend.

Has anyone had this happen to them or at least the sound of it?

7 years is usually when mechanicals [bearings] begin to show wear.
Based on inability to meet oem balance specs I've replaced 2 sets of wheels about every 7 years or 100k.
Tires are rarely oem quiet beyond 8-12,000 miles or after first year of use.

On the earlier Q designs the left rear [right front] bearings always failed first unless their was a rear curb impact.

I did find a slight play in the right rear....interesting. If my wheel hub bearing is going bad wouldn't the noise sound different, like groaning?

The normal purpose of an automotive $20 acoustic stethoscope to listen to rotating things.

Bearings fail in a variety of ways. How/when they sound/feel depends on the particular failure mode.
