Can anyone please share with me the typical burning oil locations on a 2002 Q45 model.
I'm beginning to smell burning oil more and more lately.

I can see some oil build up around the cam covers from just a visible inspection.
:wavey: Can anyone else suggest other places to check out?

Thank you again for all your comments and support!

If the valve cover(cam cover) gaskets are starting to leak, oil will drip down onto the exhaust manifold and burn off, giving you that telltale smell. Mine started to leak right after I switched over to synthetic oil. Check those cover gaskets.

Funny thing, I just went back to a blend versus full synthetic, not even knowing it could make a difference?

I've had a love/hate relationship with Mobil 1 for the last ten years for just this reason. Can't say I've had this problem with other synthetics. That being said, Mobil 1 has worked just fine in my '02 Q.

Synthetic oil {even "fake"synthetic oil like most use without knowing it} does not CAUSE oil leaks,it MAY do some cleaning and remove thick sludged oil build up that kept faulty seals from seeping, but it does not CAUSE leaks.
