Hi, I just registered and I have many questions from toronto canada but I will start with the most important one.rear end is low and infinity service told me it was cause of no compression in rear shocks but 2nd opinion told me new shocks won't bring car level up??? can anybody help? (my car looks like i have sandbags in the trunk)

by the way, what does f50 mean?

F50 refers to the chasis code. The 97-01 q45 is a y33.

Its normal for a F50 to sit low in the back, I've seen them like that when the car came out new- deff does not look nice. The front fender arches are much higher than the rear creating the "lifted" front end look, common on all newer Nissans.

IMO, shocks don't raise or lower a car, springs do. so your second opinion is right. look at some of the pis posted. (on stock cars) if you look different then there is a problem. he is a pic of my 02. stock suspension

Looking at the pic, there seems to be at least 3-4 inches difference between the front wheel arch height and the rear. Once you throw some stuff into the trunk, then it will become more pronounced.

BTW, the car looks nice. I like that color on the F50.

here are some more pics.I run 255/45/18 not the factory 245.so my gap is a little tighter, but the front measured 3" and the back 1 1/8".

thanks for the comp.PaulC.....maybe somebody already put lowering spring?kinda doubtful.....the 02s aren't really being "modified" yet. THe first owners are just now turning them in on lease returns and trade-ins.

thanks for the input. still can't make out from the pictures for sure if mine is lower...(if i could only find another q45 on the road in toronto to compare!)

...anyway, shocks gotta be changed anyway so I will figure it out. Probably I have to get over it.

I'm more excited about getting rid of the hesitation on acceleraton from the service bulletin (ITB-02048 ) gonna fix the gas pedal and upgrade software for better gears changes.

If you got the Q45 sport, I believe it will sit slightly lower inthe back than the average F50. I really can't explain why, but it is something that's been pointed out in a past dealership experience before...

The premium I think has some of the sport options, maybe?

At rest any F50 Q45 with the Active Damping Suspension (2002 Sport and all year Premiums) actually sit a little higher in the front than the base suspension models. Gives the Active Damped models more of a squat look.
