2002 Q45 keyless entry not working

Parked the car today morning and everything was fine. Locked it using the remote (about 10-15 meters away).

Tried to unlock the car at lunch time and it doesn't work. Used the manual key to open the door and the car ran fine.

The only thing I did today that I normally don't do is to pop the hood of the car after parking to check oil level. The remote never gave me problems and was working from more than 20 meters away. Any ideas?

Just for fun, I would replace the battery in your remote...

You can also try to reprogram it by inserting the key in and out of the ignition approximately 10-20 time in 1 minute until the signal lights flash. But not too fast.

Hi,

I took the battery out. Tested it in another device and it was okay.

Put it back in the remote and now it works. It looks like it only needed a reset i.e. take the battery out and put it in again.
