2002 q45 catalytic converter warranty 8years/80,000???

Well I just bought an 02 q45 4 months ago.I have driven it just about 1000 miles and the check engine light came on.$110.00 at the dealer to tell me that the car was in before I bought it for the same problem.They re-programmed the ecu so it was not so sensitive and it lasted about 1000 miles.Now it also shows the dealer recommended the catalytic converters should be replaced.Now I have the car with same problem again and they $3000.00 to replace the cats?? Am I the only one who thinks this was a problem they should have warned me about and that they should fix it or take the car back? Now I am reading about an 8 year 80,000 mile warranty for defective cats? It is a special part specific warranty.Any advice would help any info would help.

the cats should be under war.did you buy from and individual or the dealer?if dealler you have an issue...if individual...buyer beware

I bought the car from an Infiniti dealership. This was the original dealership where the car was first sold and where the car was traded in at and where it went through the dealerships 100 plus point inspection.I think they should fix it.

The warranty is with Nissan not the selling dealer. As with any warranty repair the dealer or YOU must get Nissan's agreement that they will reimburse the dealer for repairs.

Emissions and Computer Control Units are covered at 8/80k miles per factory warranty. I just did mine inder warranty at 72k miles
