Can the battery on the new Q be replaced without having to worry about the loss of vital onboard computer settings, or should I maintain the settings by connecting another car's battery to the Q via jumper cables while I swap the new battery for the old? Thanks!

Yes. you can unplug it and you wont hurt anything.....

youll lose your preset radio stations, seat memory, and other things of that sort.... But you wont hurt anything or cuase anything to go bad.....

A lot of people seem to think by periodically unplugging the battery and lettingthe computers reset it will get better performance.. Im somewhat unconvinced, but Ive cured a lot of electrical problems this way :)

Thanks, Elwesso! I did the battery change today. Only the radio stations and the memory function (seat, mirrors, steering column) needed to be reset, just as you said. Surprisingly, all the other settings remained unchanged; even the Maintenance mileage records for the Engine Oil, Oil Filter, and Tire Rotation were unaffected.
