Has the throttle TCM/ECM update been performed?

Otherwise, maybe Impul.

You know I have been researching that update all day. I checked and my 02 q has that gas pedal with the spring at top so that is an indicator it has not been done. Now I am trying to get info on the cost and what to do about getting this update. Will it make a decent difference in the performance of the car??/

Not an impressive difference, but certainly eliminates dealy at tip in and improves shift sequence timing.

If you are not in warranty, about $1100 unless you can social engineer a friendly service writer or manager.

There is an Impul ECM, but no telling if any American gas is up to the Japanese standards.

Depends on rate. Last was about $2100 individually or $1500 with trade in. Don't know if they will accept US ECU in trade.

My local dealer seemed familiar with this update. He wont know if my car needs until he sees the part # off the ecu.He says if they do the update it will cost about $360.00 That sounds like a great deal!!!!! I hope he is not mistaken.

that would be very good deal. The work order on mine was around $1000.As I might have mentioned my service writter got it covered on the extended warr since it was fixed at 60+K miles.I had been into a nothert dealer months before and complained about the hesitation but the blew me off.

They said it right, social engineer that service writer, one flick of their pen or keyboard and suddenly it is warranty. Frankly, for this fix Nissan should do EVERy 02' and make them all right no matter what.
