Engine blew at 30000 miles. Had it replaced (under warrenty) they forgot a small plastic piece then wanted to charge me $125 (said it was part of an assembly) tried to contact nissan national and they never called me back. Really a shame I wanted a 350 (used to have 2 different 280Zs) but I'll never buy nissan again because of the problems and local dealer. Anyways now I have a swamp and cant figure out where the water is coming from.
First of all, my condolences on your Pathfinder. Too bad about all the bad luck. An exeption I hope. I have 170,000 Kms. (over 100k miles) on mine, and other than 2 oxygen sensors and the usual maintenance, I haven't had any problems. For example, I'm still running my original under carriage (suspension, steering, exhaust, etc.). As for dealerships, they are unique. Mine has been great. I've bought 4 cars from them over the past 4 years, and have given me excellent service. As for the water leak, I'm still not sure where it came from. I spent a lot of time with a garden hose trying to find it. I narrowed it down fairly close though. I ran water on the windshield pasenger side, as a far as I could figure, it was getting in around the weatherstripping that runs just below the windshield. (This weatherstripping runs from side to side and seals the rear edge of the hood when the hood is closed). I just took a tube of clear silicone sealant and RTV'd every little hole and seam I could find around that area. I even ran a bead of sealant under the weatherstripping. It's kind of hard to describe, so I hope you get the idea. Whatever I did seems to have worked. My carpet has been dry all summer.Good luck.
