Almost all my research indicates the P1145 codes are common on the 2001 pathfinders, but I've yet to see it for a 2002.

I guess my first question would be, how similar are the 2001 and 2002 models? I've only had the Pathfinder for 5 months, so still getting familiar with it.

I read the topic by flynmoose and the sticky post, and am uncertain if I have the sensor issue or the Solonoid issue.

The SES light first came on on a very cold day, 20s which I thought might have something to do with it. I had the code read at a local mechanic and result was P1145 (intake timing solonoid / control b-2 ?). He reset it and the light was out for about 300 miles or so and came back on. Would this lead you to believe it is the solonoid?

Either case, are these dealer only parts?

Thanks in advance!

At what moment did the light illuminate? While you were driving down the road or when you started the car and was warming up? That is key.

The first time it came on was on a cold start.

The second time I noticed it was on after I had been driving for a few miles, but it may have come on right after I started the vehicle. But I know for sure the first time was right when I started it.

Thanks for the reply.

that would be a sensor fault then.

I replaced the crankshaft position sensor almost 2 months ago (pretty simple) and was told by the Nissan parts guy that the SES light might go out after 50 cranks. Well it's been well over 50 cranks by now.

Part of me thinks that it was the correct part because I have noticed an increase in fuel mileage since I changed it, but I honestly don't know if this affects fuel efficiency or not.

Should I just go to AutoZone and have them clear the code/light and see if it comes back on, or just wait it out a little longer and see if it goes out on its own?

wouldnt have been the Crankshaft position sensor[ mounted on the bell housing left upper area] It would have been an intake timing sensor, not to be confused with the intake cam position sensor.

So based on the following diagram > zer...c.JPG

Which part is the bad part? I replaced 23731TB on the top left (passenger side), which now after reading other posts in more detail that P1145 is actually driver's side. DOH!

Thanks for the help...

You replaced the right part but as you said on the incorrect bank. Get the correct bank and replace it.
