Hello all,

Once again I need some help. My Pathfinder had a grinding sound every time I changed gears from Neutral to 1, 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. I took it to the dealer who, after several days of "diagnostics" stated that the throw out bearing had excessive play. They replaced the bearing, fly wheel, clutch assembly and clutch plate. So after all that, 2 weeks in the shop and $ 1600 later, the grinding noise is still not gone. It's less angry and intermittent in nature, but without any doubt, still present.

This is not the first time I've had these kind of problems with this dealer repair shop. Last time the SES light came on, they said it was the oil level, reset and then 2 months later it was back. This time with Code 1145. So the sensor was replaced. Light is still off but I don't have high expectations anymore.

This is obviously getting to be frustrating. Don't know if it's the dealer is messing around now. I mean two issues back to back, and both inadequately addressed. Does anyone have any advice?

Samir

They check the pilot bearing?

The records indicate that they did not.

Well, since the initial diagnosis didn't fix the problem, I'd be going back telling them that they're now going to fix it free of charge.

Thanks. That's what I want to do. I don't know if they'll go for it though. Is there a customer's bill of rights or something that will support that?

Thanks a again
