This started out of the blue yesterday evening. The dash controls for the AC/Heat unit can long longer control the blower fan in the dash. You can switch the setting from feet to feet and face or to defrost and the air flow changes, you can even vary the temp and it will go up and down however the fan runs full blast all the time even when its turned off completely it still attempts to blow. I removed a couple of fuses in the dash thinking it would at least stop it till I figure it out however it didn't. Seems like a relay is stuck or something or maybe the switch in the fan is broke. Any thoughts on where to start looking for the solution and possible parts it might involve. I'm hoping it somethign simple.

ThanksJoel

Blower amp blew out. located under the dash on the passenger side. 2 screws hold it up in the case between the blower and core area part of the case.

Well I took kick panel off and a few screws out of the black cover that appears to go between the blower in the far right part of the kick panel but I can't seem to get that black panel down. I assume this blower amp you speak of is under that large black tray under the glove box? I have also now removed the blower fan completely from under the dash however I'm still not seeing anything similar to what you what you describe.

The part is about 2 to 3 inches square. remove the glove box assmbly and look at the heater case. You will see a 4 wire plug going into a white peice. on either side of that white peice is a screw. remove those 2 screws and it slides right out. The part will be slighty toward the center of the of the dash in the glove box opening.

Yea you test them when they are in with a volt meter if you are getting a signal to the motor and no signal into the amp from the climate control unit it is bad. I have done at least 5 of them on the pathfinder and that was the exact failure your experiancing. I dont know what they run off the top of my head. honestly I never look at parts prices when I diagnose the car I just write down what ever the car needs and let the advisor deal with dollars. You would probably get a better deal from one of our dealer sponsors if you ordered from them. Even I can find better prices then from my own dealer.
