Hey guys - I have been on this site for a while learning various repair tips. Up to this point, I have been able to find the answers to my problems but now I am coming across an issue that I am not able to see any answers so before I pull my hair out, I am reaching out for some help.

I have a 2002 Pathfinder that would not start a few weeks ago so I towed it to a mechanic and he replaced the IAC (did not even know that this could be the issue). He said that it was leaking coolant and a fuse was blown that caused it not to start (said coolant leaked on it??). In any case, he got it started and running - I drove it home and it had a rough idle (which by the way had started about a day before it decided not to crank). So I sent the ECM to circuit board medics for a repair because I had the P0505 code, rough idle, etc. Now today I try and plug the ECM and start and it does not start?

Anything that I may be missing here? It was running before I unplugged the ECM for repair and now when I plug it back in, it does not start - the starter turns plenty though?

Any ideas are appreciated.

Willy

Just saw your other post as well.
Having the ECM repaired for the P0505 should not have affected anything else.
I had mine repaired, along with a new IACV, and it started up right away.
Idled a little fast, but the relearn took care of that.
Are you getting any other codes?
I'd also go back under the dash in and around the ECM, and double check all the harnesses.
It's pretty tight under there.
Maybe something came loose.

Did you install the repaired ECU at the same time as the IAC valve? It sounds like you ran it in between. If either one is bad, it takes out the other. That is why Circuit Board Medic insists you change both at once to make their warranty effective. :frown:

I will close this out at the expense of sounding like a dummy - it was bothering me, so tonight I just double checked and it was a loose connection on the ECM, so I will try the relearn tomorrow with a charged battery - hopefully it's not too hard....short answer is - one problem down and a few to go in this journey...

Thanks for quick reply - it's because of that these forums work so well!!

Even though it sounds like he found his problem, I have to chime in for those that are going through this problem as well.
You are correct. Can't emphasize this enough: You have to install the new IACV and the repaired ECM together, with the battery disconnected.

Yep- for the record - between time of IAC and ECM replace was about 10 miles as I found this issue - just took some time to get the cash and hours needed to send off the ECM - I just parked the ol car!! Battery was also disconnected!!

So appreciate all of the help - now on to the next issues and searching!!
