Welcome to NICO. That's a Canadian model so I speak solely on the basis of US models.
Being an R50, regardless of your location, your primary concern should be rust on the strut towers. Have them checked and checked again. That's a vehicle-ending condition and, being up north, that's doubly important.
The Canadian models were very similar to the US. The radios are very easy to remove and replace. I could do it in under five minutes.
If your intent is to stay OEM... If it currently has a Bose radio, it'll need to be replaced with a Bose radio. If it's not a Bose, it'll need to be replaced with a non-Bose radio. For model year 2002-2004, if equipped with steering wheel controls, you'll have to use the radio from a 2002-2004 if you want the steering wheel controls to work properly since those years had different controls. Otherwise, earlier radios will work but the steering wheel controls won't work right.
They all use standard Nissan plugs and a variety of Nissan OEM radios will plug in, however, the bezel fit is the issue.
To find a replacement, get on eBay and buy one. If the model number on the radio is important for you to match, remove the bezel, unscrew the radio, remove it, and get the model number. Instructions available on this site or on YouTube.
These radios are easily replaced with aftermarket, especially if you don't have a Bose, which requires new speakers and bypassing the Bose amps.
