Hello all, I was wondering if the CEL (Service Engine Soon) light is supposed to turn on (then off) along with the other warning lights on the dash when the key is turned to the "on" position or when starting the vehicle. Cause mine doesn't. I tried searching and couldn't find any results :frown:. Just checking if I need to take a look behind the dash to see if the bulb is burnt out from the previous owner or ...missing

Yes, the SES light is supposed to illuminate with the ignition "ON" and the parking brake set. The light is an LED, so there is very little chance that it is burnt out.

Well, I was able to scan my Pathfinder using my friends ScanGauge. Come to find out, it had 4 stored codes. Guess the previous owner took out the bulb. The gauge was only able to give out the codes with no description. After looking online this is what I came up with.

P0004 Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit High
C1400 Traction Control Valve RF Circuit Failure
C0100 Rear ABS Solenoid #1 Circuit Malfunction
P2002 Particulate Trap Effieciency Below Threshold

I'm kinda stumped on what the P0004 code exactly means. I'm reading on some site that it's a generic code that doesn't mean any thing and on others they say that its cause by a vacuum leak. Anyone have this come up before? The car runs and idles fine so I'm guessing it's something not too serious if it is anything at all. I'm guessing that the P2002 code mean I have a bad cat. I'm not surprised about that one. I can hear some exhaust noise coming from the cat and from reading online they don't tend to last long on Pathys. Has anyone had any issues regarding the C1400 code and the C0100 code? Just want to know if it's something that can easily be diagnosed and fixed. Guess I know where my next pay check is going. lol

I have never seen any of those codes anywhere in the FSM before. I don't trust the ScanGauge in this case, it seems like it's spitting nonsense out. Go get codes pulled at AutoZone or some other parts store instead.

Traction control was only introduced as an option on '03 Pathfinders. Your sig says '02. So Townie is probably right.
