My Pathfinder had a bad alignment and it appears the camber was way off for a Camber Kit to resolve the camber issue.
Anyone can help me or at least confirm this was the correct procedure for my bad alignment.

I noticed the problem with my tire wear on the passenger wheel it was showing uneven wear on the inner section. I replaced the front Struts and bushings at 95k. Then at 105k I replace the wheel bearings. Also I noticed the camber was off and my alignment was creating the uneven wear. The car has never been in an accident so the front end wasn't misaligned due to structural compromise but maybe a large pot hole or curb bump could have cause the issue. I took it to a cheap alignment shop and I was told this model had a fixed camber. They were able to adjust the Toe on the alignment but would need to do a more drastic measures to resolve the camber problem. I also called the Nissan dealership and they confirmed the car doesn't have any camber adjustment on the struts and I would need a Camber kit to fix any problems. The kit didn't work and the auto shop recommend to enlarge the holes on the struts to adjust the camber so the car can be aligned correctly. So basically they widen the holes on the strut mounts to address the camber issue. The car is align correctly now but I feel it may have compromise the suspension integrity. Has anyone had the same problem? Was this correct solution?

Thanks,

Pathy.

Camber, caster, and kingpin inclination are indeed set at the factory and can't be adjusted. Their being out of adjustment might indicate previous suspension or body damage causing improper alignment of these components. Are you sure your Pathfinder hasn't had any damage? What brand of strut mounts & bearings did you use for replacement?

I'm unsure whether your alignment shop's modification will cause any potential harm. I would get a second opinion at a shop you have more trust with.

I suspect the body is damage but it is so minor only the camber on the suspension is the resulting issue. As for the struts and bearing were put in by the dealership and I'm not aware of the brand but I'm guessing it's OEM. The car is driving fine now so I guess the half a** job is holding up and I"m not going to keep this car longer than a few years. Knowing about the strut towers on this model having rust issues i would suspect the towers were made from very thin cheap steel that could wrap by hitting the curb too hard or a large pot hole on the road. My last Pathfinder rusted out and Morley bought it back. Of course I bought a replace Pathy because I missed it so much.
