I started to get the cool morning not shifting in Drive problem or morning sickness and knew it was the solenoid seals need to be replaced.

So I took apart my 2002 Nissan Pathfinder Transmission to change the Solenoid O-Ring Seals and it seems I have a part I don't know where it goes. It's L Bracket with hole to lock down but I'm not sure where it goes. I know the part was located from the top of the valve body assembly but not sure where. I'm guessing it was around the solenoid nut.

I'm guessing it goes under one of these bolts.

Also I'm in the process of putting back together the Transmission Valve body Assembly and want to know if the washer nut under the springs needs to be tightened in a certain position or just lock down tight?

Please help and let me know where these parts go before I put back together my transmission.

Thanks,

Kap

mac, been a couple of days , no one back yet to answer ,I'll take a "wild guess" - looking like you got parts all over your bench - I feel for for you need it back together. Could that little L bracket be on a stud , like the stud near the "Range shift piston" side and along the edge - and see where your DIPSTICK comes near the edge of the valve-body. It may be a "DEFLECTOR" for the ( potentially DISTORTED) END of dipstick to NOT HIT RECESSES in the side of your valvebody ?? ;)
