Like I posted above, I have my a 2002 Nissan Sentra that has a sputtering problem. I understand that one cylinder is not firing, as I have tracked the problem back to the wire harness. The boot has been switched between cylinders, and the number 2 cylinder still is not firing, while the others are still.

I'm wondering is this the wiring harness or could it be a sensor that has gone bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Currently I do not have a code scanner, so codes are not going to happen.

So you are having issues with 1 and 2 cylinder?

Have you checked to make sure that the number 2 coil pack is getting you a spark? I don't think a sensor would cause one cylinder to have issues.

Only cylinder number 2 is not firing. I switched the coil packs around just too see if it was the coil, and no its the connection to the number 2 coil that has gone out.

So you swapped the coil packs around, and the problem STAYED at cylinder #2? Have you pulled the plug and left it connected to the cylinder to see if you are getting spark? Because if you are, it might not be getting fuel (injector).

Is it throwing codes and you just haven't checked them? Autozone and many other auto parts stores will check them for free.
