I'm a new owner of a 2002 Spec V. After reading some reviews and wikipedia, I've been told there is sometimes a problem with the screws on the butterfly valve inside the intake manifold backing out. I'm wondering how common of a problem this is. Also If anyone has attempted to remove the manifold and lock tight these screws to prevent this from happening any input would be helpful. I'm not very knowledgable about cars but I can turn a wrench and follow instructions. Any pics of this process and quick tips would also be helpful. Lastly if there are any other common issues that arise with this car that should be checked or changed I'll take those too.

So far this is my only and biggest concern for a potential problem. I have also noticed a squeaking in the front chassis or shocks somewhere, especially when its colder outside. This problem does go away slightly as the vehicle warms up or if it's warmer outside to begin with.

Sorry so long and thanks for any and all input.
Ben

I have yet to lock-tite the butterfly screws on my wifes Spec and its 8 yrs old. The other issue is oil consumption, replacing the oem header with an aftermarket one to eliminate the pre-cat is suppose to help the problem. If the car has a lot of miles on it and hasn't been replaced, it probably won't make much of a difference this late in the game.
