2002 Nissan Maxima GLE stalling problems

Hey everyone!

New guy here and I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima GLE w/ 207,xxx miles on it.

The problem is that the vehicle initially would stall under hard braking. Then, the car struggles to accelerate uphill or past 60 mph. The car would eventually stall. It would take waiting a few minutes to restart the vehicle. I don't think it is a transmission issue. I did notice that the VIAS control valve actuator is sticking in either the open or closed position. Would that affect drivability to the point of stalling? Or would it be a transmission thing?
