I have very long drive to work and my 2002 Maxima is getting close to the 220K miles. What should I do to keep it running smooth? The only thing right now is when I start the car in the morning it take at least a minute or two to kick in drive.

Thanks

What do you mean by "minute or two to kick in drive"?

welcome to nico from a fellow maxima driver. I would also like to know what you mean. Do you mean that it take a minute or two before you can shift into drive??

Yes, if the car is idle for sometime it won't go into drive for a minute or two, then it would shift in, my mechanic has not found anything wrong with the Transmission..

Take it to Nissan and have them run diagnostics. Maybe it's just the TCM.
