2002 Maxima won't move

Hi, my 2002 maxima, that my daughter has been driving for a year, stopped moving on the highway and wouldn't start once stopped. We had it towed to a parking lot until AAA could tow it to my house. After an hour, my daughter tried to start it and it started. She revved the engine a few times and put it in Drive. The car moved about six inches and then died.

I read through some forums and everyone seemed o think it was the transmission sensor, code P0430.

I ran the diagnostics and came up with codes, P0455; P1448; P1146; P0138. My daughter did say that the SEL was on for a few months. Now, would these codes cause the car not to move?

Also, while I had the car running today, the stereo shut off by itself after a few minutes and I turned the car off. I tried to start it again and the car wouldn't start (just clicked) and the stereo came on. The car has almost 180,000 miles on it.

Welcome to NICO George.

None of the codes you listed would cause the car not to move.

With the symptoms you described, my guess would be that the alternator is bad. I would remove it, and have it checked.

Yeah, that was my guess. But the car won't start, but if you leave it for an hour, it starts right up... it is a mystery to me...
