The ASCD Brake Switch and Stop Lamp Switch are used by the ECM to determine status of brake pedal. If the brake pedal is depressed. the Stop Lamp switch CLOSES (ON) while the ASCD switch OPENS (OFF). If the either one is not working properly or there is a problem with the connector/harness, the ECM will trigger P1572 fault code. The Stop Lamp switch is monitored by the ABS control unit. So it's possible that the ABS light illumination is due to these switches.
The Stop Lamp and ASCD Brake switches are mounted on the upper part of the brake pedal (LH is ASCD, RH is Stop Lamp).
Check the harness and connectors to these switches. Depress the brake pedal and check that the STOP lamp comes on (and turns off when pedal is released. For the ASCD Brake switch, drive on a highway and engage cruise control. With cruise control ON, depress the brake pedal and verify cruise control disengages. It would be better if you have a multimeter so you can check the actual operation of the switch in relation to the brake pedal. It's also possible that the position (clearance) of the switches are not adjusted correctly. Adjust or replace defective components.
If problem persisted, additional troubleshooting procedure is available but requires multimeter and knowledge of wiring diagram and wire color coding.
