I have an 2002 infiniti qx4 with about 145,000 miles. I purchased at 30,000. I have been changing my own oil with mobil one synthetic and have noticed over the past 45,000 that I have been loosing oil. I go anywhere from 4,000 - to 6,000 between changes. I noticed after 1500 - 2000 miles that I will have to top off the oil up to a quart. Is this normal? I can not find any noticeable oil leaks.

2. This winter I noticed the transmission having a hard time shifting into the overdrive. It would take 5-7 miles of driving before it would shift. After that it would have any problems until the car sat idle and got cold again. The dealership said this was normal during the winter but I do recall noticing it before.

I have been pleased with the qx4 but just wondering if anyone could share some insight. Thanks
