I have an 02 I35 with 103k miles it has ran with no problems I am original owner. Just got a price from a mechanic for a tune up he wanted $250.00 including plugs. Is that a fair price.
I also had a check engine light on he said I needed 2 oxygen sensors and he wanted $600.00.
Is this a big job? I see both of the sensors on either side of motor.
how many oxygen sensors are there?
he said it was a lot of labor!!!!

You can price spark plugs on www.sparkplugs.com and see what they cost. You only want to use the OEM NGK plugs. Do not use any other type plug.

There are 4 O2 sensors for your car. Price on the sensors depends on which sensors are bad. You can get a price on the sensors from the above mentioned site or somewhere like www.oxygensensor.net. I would get the ones with the factory plug on the end, not the universal style.

Orignal Bosch O2 sensors are expensive, usually over $100 each. A replacement sensor from NGK/NTK can cost between $50-80, cheaper if you know the exact part number and get it from Amazon. I never have had problems with these NGK/NTK sensors.

It's not difficult to replace the sensor(s) but you must know exactly which sensors are failing (trouble code will tell you). An O2 sensor adapter is useful plus WD-40 or equivalent. The sensor connector are mounted - 3 close to the radiator, one on the rear engine compartment, pax side.
