What's up everyone?

I searched the boards, and the only suggestions made to reset the Service Engine Soon light were for Nissans. I tried these suggestions on my '02 I35, but they didn't work.

In the past year my service engine soon light has come on 4 times. The code is for the Cafshaft sensor, but everytime I take the car in (and I have taken it to several different places) they say nothing needs to be fixed, but charge me to reset the sensor. Each time, the sensor stays off for several months before coming back on. If the Cafshaft was out, the car wouldn't start, but it runs fine.

Does anyone know how to reset the light yourself for the '02 I35? I'm sick of paying $100+ to get it reset each time, but I also don't want to just ignore the warning light in case something serious happens down the road.

Thanks for the help!Regards,Tim

Try disconecting the battery for about half an hour that should reset the light.

First off, welcome aboard.

Secondly, replace the camshaft sensor. I would continue to just reset your light and charge you $100 if you would like... IIRC the sensor replacement should be a DIY job, just search or ask around. Also, I have not had too much luck unplugging the battery to reset anything, but give it a go. You should also be able to stop by a local parts store (checker or autozone) and they will pull the codes free.--Mike
