My son is thinking of purchasing a 2002 I35 with 90,300 miles on it. It is in great shape and owned by an older couple that traded it in at a Lexus dealership. The dealer wants $9900 for it which is way too high. Here is the link: http://www.eskridgelexus.com/V...85613

Any guesstimates as to what I should offer them for it? What problems should I look for? Also, I know the I35 is pretty reliable, but what is a realistic life span for it before major repairs like engine work and transmission problems hit? I know these are general questions, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

$9900 is definitely way high.I wouldn't pay more than $7500. You can get '04 and '05 Maximas for what they're asking. Point that out to them. I'd also point out that it's been succeeded twice now, and at 7 years old they really can't justify asking for top-dollar like that. I'm sure they're trying to bank on the Infiniti name but the car's not worth the Infiniti premium without the new-car Infiniti dealer support.

Just FYI, but I picked up an '02 at Fenton in OKC for $6800 last Feb with 90K on it.
